Description

The eight frame MDAT transmitter is based on the commercially available General Purpose IndustryPack Module from BIRA Systems. It can generate up to eight MDAT frames with different delays from TCLK event $07 (720Hz). The module also contains a 16 bit serial NRZ decoder with a 32 word FIFO.

Register Description

There are three sets of 16 bit registers on the module. The first set are the typecode registers; these determine the typecode for the transmitted frame (Only the lower eight bits are used.) . The second set are the data registers; they determine the data for the transmitted frame. The last set are the delay registers; these determine the delay in microseconds from the $07 TCLK event after which the frame will be transmitted. A delay of zero will disable the frame.

The serial NRZ decoder can generate an interrupt when it receives data. Only God Herself knows how to do this.

The serial NRZ decoder was only used for the Recycler frames.
