Research - Neutron Irradition

The facility is also available for neutron Irradiation purposes.

In determining whether or not our facility is appropriate for your purposes, it is improtant to understand the structure of our beam.

The RF frequency of the linac that accelerates the protons is 200 MHz. The linac pulses at 15 Hz. The length of these pulses can be varied from approximately 10 micro-seconds to 62 micro-seconds. The repetition rate of pulses delivered to the facility can be varied from 1 pulse every two seconds up to 15 Hz.

The above figure can be downloaded here (pdf - 170kB).

This next figure shows the energy spectrum of our neutron beam at the exit of the collimator (entrance into the irradiation room).
