found.i4.v = ssfndx(string.i1a.r, nchar.i4.v, substring.i1a.r,
			    len.i4.v, dntcmp.i1.v)

	This routine will search the first 'nchar' characters of 'string'
	to see if it contains 'substring' which has a length of 'len'
	characters. A value of TRUE will be returned if 'substring'
	is found in 'string'. Otherwise, a value of FALSE will be
	returned. If either string contains the character 'dntcmp' at
	a given index, a match will be indicated for that particular index.

	string		string to be searched
	nchar number of characters to search
	substring	substring to search for
	len		length of substring
	dntcmp		wildcard character

	This function returns status values as follows:

	TRUE			substring was found
	FALSE			substring was not found
