					 gpib_address.i4.v, bytes_returned.i4.r)

	This routine reads binary data from a GPIB device.  This call should be
	preceded by calls to gpib_select_c and gpib_write_c.

	buffer		returned data buffer from GPIB device
	num_bytes	number of bytes to return
			(If a value of zero is passed for this argument,
			 the maximum number of bytes for this device
			 will be read.)
	gpib_address	device's GPIB address (0-255)
			(This argument is not used for connections made
			 by IP name.)
	bytes_returned	number of bytes actually returned

	This function returns ACNET status values as follows:

	OK			success
	CBS_INVARG		invalid device address
	CBS_NODAT		VME interface device could not be retrieved
				for this GPIB address
	otherwise		GAS error
