ststus.i4.v = dio_get_timer_ref(device_indices.i4a.r, num_events.i4a.r,
					events.i4a.r, errors.i2a.r

	This routine will read the clock events for a 177/377/379/477
	timer channel or a list of timer channels into the array "events".
	The number of active events is returned in "num_events".
	This routine also supports non-CAMAC timers which have the same
	ACNET device interface.

	device_indices	device index of timer or array of device indices
	num_events	returned number of events or array of numbers
			of events
	events		returned array of events
			(DIO_MAX_TIMER_EVENT events per timer)
	errors		array of returned ACNET status values
	[num_timers]	number of timers to read (default is 1)

	This function returns status values as follows:

	OK			success
	DIO_MEMFAIL		dynamic memory allocation failure
	DIO_INVDEV		not a timer device
	DIO_NO_SUCH		invalid timer database entries
	negative value		ACNET format error indicating overall failure
	positive value		number of timers in error
