Specification of Module Names

to the SWIC Data Pooling Process

Introduction

The list of SWICs to be pooled on one of the CAMAC front end nodes (HUEY, DEWEY, or LOUIE) in the EPICURE system is generated by the execution of a VMS DCL command procedure. This procedure performs the following operations:

• Generates an alphabetical list of all SWIC devices from the database device file corresponding to the CAMAC front end on which the command procedure is executing. Meson SWICs are pooled on node DEWEY, Neutrino SWICs are pooled on node HUEY, and Proton SWICs are pooled on node LOUE. The database files have an extension of DEV and are located in

• Removes from the list any SWIC device having a channel number which exceeds the maximum of 39 or which has been specified for a previous SWIC device.

• Optionally removes from the list any SWIC device which is currently being pooled but which has had some error condition.

• Allows the user to edit the resulting list of SWICs to remove any additional entries.

• Using the first 15 entries from the list of SWICs, builds the data file read by the SWIC Data Pooling process.

• Stops and then restarts the SWIC Data Pooling process to initiate data colleciton using the new list of SWICs.
