Downld Abstract

Usage : The DOWNLD process is triggered at a central node by the
receipt of an incoming UDP/IP message. The 'downld_data'
table is read from the central database to identify those
front-ends which support the DOWNLD protocol, and to
determine the time of last successful download. The
'db_audit' table is scanned to identify the devices which
have been modified since the last successful download.
Modified properties are downloaded to supported front-ends.
Supported properties include setting, basic control, alarm
blocks, subsystems device record, device descriptive text,
	  name of device, and PDB.

Restart: This process is started by inetd (at node CENTRA) upon
receipt of an incoming UDP/IP message directed to the DOWNLD
port. After finishing its work, DOWNLD exits.
